Eliza (Madden) <3

I have enjoyed the video visits we’ve been having so much. I always regretted how little one-on-one time we had together so I’m grateful to have this space that’s just for us where I can dedicate all of my attention to you.

You’re wearing hats now! πŸ˜€ And going by Madden. You’re in fourth grade and you have the same teacher and classmates as last year. You never stop moving and it makes me remember your little body wiggling against mine when you were a baby.

I can’t believe in a few months you’ll be ten years old. That fact just slapped me in the face. Time is the one thing we can never get back, and oh how I wish I spent more time with you.

You are so vibrant and funny and artistic. I love your creativity and imagination. I like hearing you talk about what you’re interested in, what you’re reading, what you’re watching, what’s happening with your siblings.

Your heart is as big as ever, and I know you’re having to protect it more as you get older, but it makes me so happy that you’re making friends and figuring out who you are.

I found out from Dominique today that you’re wanting more visits, so we’re going to move up to two a week. That put such a huge smile on my face. Even though she said you said you weren’t sure if you’re ready for an in-person visit yet, I’m glad we’re making progress towards that.

Honestly I just can’t wait to hang out with you and get the chance to go on some Eliza and mom adventures. I want to spoil you and dote on you and hug you and never let you go. I can restrain myself though and respect that it’s going to take time for you to feel safe with me again. Thank you for giving me a chance though. Thank you for believing in my heart too, baby girl.
